Cloaking | SEO Cloaking Types : Different Types Of Cloaking

Cloaking
Cloaking is a SEO (search engine optimization) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser.

In simple terms Cloaking can be defined as a means by which different versions of the same page are presented to the search engine and human visitors.

When a person requests the page of a particular URL from the website, the site's normal page is returned, but when a search engine spider makes the same request, a special page that has been created for the engine is returned and the normal page for the URL is concealed from the engine

Types of cloaking

There are different kinds of cloaking; some of these are listed below

IP address Cloaking: In this method, IP addresses are determined and then different content is presented to different IP addresses. In IP address cloaking, a search engine with a particular IP address will be presented with a certain version of a webpage whereas other IP addresses won’t be able to see this version as they will be present with entirely different versions.

User Agent cloaking: in this case also different versions of a web page are shown to different users. But in this case, distinction is made on the basis of User-Agent, i.e. People with different versions of web browsers are presented with different contents of the same page.

HTTP Accept_ REFERER Header Cloaking: In this type of Cloaking, different versions of the same website are served on the basis of the HTTP_REFERER Header value of the searcher.

HTTP Accept-Language Header Cloaking: In this type of Cloaking, different version of the same website is presented to different users on the basis of their web browser language.

JavaScript Cloaking: This type of Cloaking involves presenting one version of a website to the users with JavaScript enabled browser and presenting another version to those with JavaScript turned off (like search engines).

Quality Score | Calculate Quality Score | Explain Quality Score

Quality Score:

Quality Score is a variable used by Google, Yahoo!, and MSN that can influence both the rank and cost per click (CPC) of ads.

Quality Score helps ensure that only the most relevant ads appear to users on Google and the Google Network.

The Ad Words system works best for everybody: advertisers, users, publishers, and Google when the ads we display match our users' needs as closely as possible. Relevant ads tend to earn more clicks, appear in a higher position, and bring you the most success.

There are a number of factors that determine the Quality Score of a given ad

=>> Click-Through Rate

Quality Score formulas is the historical click-through rate (CTR) of the keyword and matched ad. Google determined ad rank by running the following formula against each ad and sorting them in descending order: bid * CTR.

=>> Ad Copy Relevance

The relevance of the ad copy to the keyword is a factor in determining Quality Score. Therefore, it can be assumed that ads with ad copy that contains the keyword will have a higher Quality Score than ads with ad copy that does not contain the keyword.

=>> Landing Page Quality

Landing page quality is a factor in determining Quality Score. Landing page quality generally refers to whether or not the page contains relevant and original content and the navigability of the site.

=>> Landing Page Load Time

Google revealed that landing page loading time impacts the Quality Score

=>> Geographical Considerations

Google has revealed that the accounts performance in the geographical region where the ad will be shown impacts Quality Score.

Quality Score = (keyword's CTR, ad text relevance, keyword relevance, landing page relevance)

Pay Per Click Terminology | Click-through Rate (CTR) | Explain Click-through Rate

Click-through Rate (CTR):

Click-through rate or CTR is a way of measuring the success of an online advertising campaign. A CTR is obtained by dividing the "number of users who clicked on an ad" on a web page by the "number of times the ad was delivered" (impressions)

CTR = Clicks/Impressions*100

For example, if a banner ad was delivered 100 times (impressions delivered) and 1 person clicked on it (clicks recorded), then the resulting CTR would be 1 percent (1%).

A low CTR may point to poor keyword performance, indicating a need for ad or keyword optimization. Therefore, you can use CTR to gauge which ads and keywords aren't performing as well for you and then optimize them.

A high click-through rate may not assure a good conversion rate, and the two rates may even share an inverse relationship. An advertisement geared towards curiosity clicks will result in fewer sales, percentage-wise, than an advertisement geared towards qualified clicks.

CTR is also used to determine your keyword's Quality Score. Higher CTR and Quality Score can lead to lower costs and higher ad position.

What is Pay per Click (PPC) Advertising? | Pay Per Click (PPC) | What is PPC

What is Pay per Click (PPC) Advertising?

PPC is an Internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, where advertisers pay the hosting service when the ad is clicked

Pay per Click (PPC) enables you to list your site at the top of search engine results by advertising on keywords that best describe your product or service. It's a dynamic marketplace - the higher you bid, the higher your advertisement will be displayed in the list.

PPC Ads is largest and most popular form of Internet advertising in which advertiser pay only for those who click on your listings which means pays per click, each clicks on their ad and links to the landing page. It is used on search engines, advertising networks, and content sites, blogs, forums etc

Among PPC providers, Google Ad Words, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft ad Center are the three largest network operators, and all three operate under a bid-based model. Cost per click (CPC) varies depending on the search engine and the level of competition for a particular keyword.

Pay per Click is not only available on search engines. Publishers can also include PPC advertisements on their sites.
